Ntumba Marie Thérèse Kabutakapua, aka MariTè K. Born in Rome to Congolese parents, since childhood, she developed a strong interest in African and African-American music. At the age of eight, he participated together with his sister in the gold Zecchino’s preselections. MariTè grows listening to different genres of black music: soul, r & b, afro and afro traditional, gospel, funky music.

A very young MariTè is called by Gen Rosso (international performer) to sing as a soloist during the “Conference of Children tor Comnig Generation” in Japan. The Japanese experience has positively marked the personal and musical life of MariTè who decides to undertake the profession of singer.

In 2010 MariTè met Maria Gabriella Marino and Arteteca, who made her discover theatrical music and acting, two worlds that fascinated her deeply.

In parallel with his work as a singer, MariTè is involved in social work. In 2010 he founded, together with a group of Congolese women, Tam Tam D’Afrique Onlus, an association that is committed to spreading news on the condition of women in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is precisely in this area that NIGHT FOR WOMEN is born, a music festival, now in its third edition, of which MariTè is artistic director and which involves several artists on stage, committed to raising funds for the literacy project of women victims of sexual violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Winner of several important prizes, MariTè begins her climb to success after arriving first in the competition “La Bella and La Voce”, for the voice section, Best performance for the Incanto Award.

Immediately after his first EP – Soul Naked was born, a record full of the sounds of his land that blends into the gospel and it will be the gospel that marks MariTè’s career that becomes director of the TRIVIUM MUSIC WORK IN PROGRESS, gospel choir of thirty vocal elements , from this choir was born the association of which MariTè is president and which is very active socially. In December 2017 Velletri was born in Gospel, a gospel festival held in the Gian Maria Volontè theater in Velletri, in favor of the victims hit by the earthquake in central Italy. In January 2018 the choir was able to adopt a work to rebuild in the village of Amatrice.

Also director of PentaGospelAngels, choir born in Puglia, where MariTè resides.

On December 24th 2017 MariTè had the honor of performing in the Vatican, in the Paul VI hall, together with Cheryl Porter & Hatteluja Gospel Singers and artists such as Imany, Noa, Annie Lennox, Patty Smith, Evia, Alex Britti, Al Bano , Enrico Ruggeri, Marco Lorusso, Cheryl Porter, Zucchero Fornaciari (for the only two Italian dates of his 2018 world tour).

Protagonist of Edicola Fiore, Fiorello has defined it as: “A great soul voice”.

In this period MariTè is engaged in the recording of his second musical album “Telling stories”, a disc of unpublished, written and set to music by MariTè.

Innocence, flag holder of Telling Stories, is available on all digital platforms, distributed by Pirames Iternational and produced by Forward Italy.

MariTè’s soul, gospel and pop lives, accompanied by her band and her gospel choirs, are full of energy and emotion.
